Hi there! My name is Marshall, and I'm a big goofball! I'm a 7-month-old Boxer mix. I've been told I'm a very special boy, and I think I've stolen some hearts at the shelter! I love to run and play - especially wrestling with my toys and blankets!
I do have a condition called Megaesophagus, so let me tell you a little bit about it. I am just like my friends, except I cannot eat or drink out of a regular doggie bowl. I have to be held upright and slowly be given my food and water so I do not regurgitate it and so it can be digested properly. I just have decreased mobility in the muscles of my esophagus, the tube that connects the mouth and stomach. This decreased muscle function leads to esophageal dilation, or enlargement, making me unable to swallow food or water properly. Because of this, I can have extra special bonding time with my future human at meal time! I like to look at the bright side, and I am just grateful to be fed some good food and still be able to run and play!
This has the potential to be a lifelong condition, and it needs to be closely monitored as I grow up. Our clinic staff would be happy to discuss with potential adopters how to make sure I am properly cared for. All I ask for is patience and love, as I am doing the very best that I can! I've been searching for a home since last December, and I would love to have the chance to meet you.
