We operate the largest No Kill shelter in Southwest Missouri. We are an independent, 501(c)3 non-profit organization licensed by the Missouri Department of Agriculture. Funding for the organization comes from private donations. We do not receive any funding from the Humane Society of the United States, Humane Society of Missouri, SPCA, or any government agencies.

Low-Cost Vaccination & Microchip Clinic: June 13 from 9am-1pm at the Humane Society
We're hosting our monthly low-cost vaccination and microchip clinic on Saturday, June 13, starting at 9am. If your pet is in need of a vaccine or microchip, we encourage you to stop in. We accept walk-ins only, so no appointment is needed! Spots are limited to 90 people, and each individual can bring up to 3 pets with them. It's first come, first served. This event will take place at our shelter located at 3161 W. Norton Road, Springfield, MO. |

4th Annual Putting For Strays Mini Golf Tournament: June 29 at Getaway Golf starting at 5:30pm
Get ready for a fun evening of mini golf, food, games, and more – all benefiting the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri’s No Kill shelter! Texas Hold 'Em Benefit Tournament: July 4 at Southbound Bar & Grill - Sign Up at 11am and Tournament Begins at 12:30pm
Calling all Poker fans! Visit Southbound Bar & Grill, located at 5739 S. Campbell Ave, on Sunday, April 19 for a fun Texas Hold 'Em Tournament benefiting our shelter animals. Sign up begins at 11am and the tournament begins at 12:30pm. There's a $500 minimum first place prize! The suggested donation is $30. If you bring in a bag of dog or cat food to the event, you'll get an extra $5,000 in your starting stack! Add ons and rebuys will be available as well. We hope to see you there! |

Friday Walk-In Microchip Clinic - Offered Every Friday!
In need of a microchip for your pet? You're in luck! The Humane Society of Southwest Missouri offers microchips to the public every Friday from 1:30-4pm at our walk-in clinic. The clinic is first come, first served - no appointment needed! Microchips are $25 per pet, and we use mini ones for your pet's comfort. For your pet's safety, all dogs must be on leashes and all cats must be in carriers for the entire duration of their visit to the shelter. If you are bringing multiple cats, please separate them and use an individual cat carrier for each cat. |

The Cooper Clinic, located inside the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri building, is the first low-cost veterinary wellness clinic in Springfield. The Cooper Clinic has already helped over 5,000+ animals in our community receive the care they need that they otherwise may not have been able to receive.

Did you know we offer monthly dog training classes at our shelter? On Wednesday nights, we offer basic obedience training; on Thursday nights, we offer trick dog training. Each training session is 4 weeks and provides a wonderful opportunity for dogs and their owners to bond while building confidence and strengthening their relationship.

June 10 - July 1 New Tricks Session: June 11 - July 2 Please note: Dogs must be at least 5 months of age and up-to-date on vaccines and flea/tick prevention before participating in a training class. Spots are limited.
