Cooper Clinic

Located inside the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri building, the Cooper Clinic is a low-cost wellness clinic helping serve the dogs and cats of our community since April 2022.

What is a Wellness Clinic?

Wellness care focuses on continuous good health of our pets, rather than visiting the vet when you think there is a problem. Although wellness care is most effective if it’s been part of your routine since your pet was a puppy or kitten, there are small yet effective ways to keep your pet healthy. We will share these tips so you can take a proactive approach to your pet’s well-being. In addition to preventive care, we are here to assist our established clients with minor illnesses and injuries that are bound to happen along the way. Wellness care for your pet is really preventative care, but it's never too late to start!

Details:

  • Wellness Clinic only. No emergencies, urgent care, or specialist surgeries
  • By appointment only. If you do not confirm your appointment in the days leading up to your appointment, we will remove you from our appointment schedule and you will have to reschedule. After two missed scheduled appointments, we will refuse services
  • We do not accept checks, CareCredit, or offer payment plans. Payment is due at the time of service
  • Pets must be in a carrier or leashed when they are brought in for their appointment
  • We do not see feral cats or unmedicated aggressive animals
  • You must be an established client to schedule surgeries (including spay/neuter) or obtain medications
  • Due to limited space, we do not allow clients to be back in the clinic with their pet during their exam

Contact Information

To schedule an appointment, please contact us via phone at 417-833-2526 ext. 207.

An entry exam is required for all new patients of the Cooper Clinic. The $30 exam fee is due at the time of the exam. A $50 deposit is required for all surgical procedures at the time of scheduling the surgical procedure. Deposits are non-refundable to minimize no-shows on the day of surgery. Should you not show, we cannot fill in your appointment space with another client due to animals needing to fast prior to surgery.

Our clinic was made possible through the generous donation of John and Mary Cooper. The goal of the Cooper Clinic is to help families who cannot afford routine veterinary care, ultimately helping families keep their pets instead of surrendering them to a shelter.
All profits from the Cooper Clinic go directly back into the shelter. If you would like to donate to this goal, please visit our donation page by clicking here.
