As a NO KILL shelter, our mission is to care for the homeless animals in our community. There are times we may not be open to the public, but our animals will still need us to care for them. Our staff will still work hard to make sure we are providing the best care for all of our dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies. We will always be here for them.
As an organization, we have been proactively planning for many scenarios that may occur over the coming weeks, implementing plans and procedures to meet the needs of the animals in our care. This planning is also to ensure the safety of the public, staff and volunteers as we continue our life saving work.
We have taken many important steps to continue to be here and save the animals that are so vulnerable at this time.
Created an internal Standard of Operations (SOP) adhering to CDC guidelines, state and federal suggestions and mandates, animal welfare authorities and our high standard of sanitation.
Created Virtual appointment processes. All adoptions have been paused during the 30 Day Stay-At-Home order.
Temporarily paused volunteer activity at the shelter to limit interaction within the shelter.
Enhanced and activated an emergency foster call to action.
Posted signage to educate the public on our protocols within the shelter.
We continue to check in with staff and their well being during this time. If anyone has any symptoms, they are asked to stay home.
7. Provided a Q&A for pet owners to help during this time.
