Fun from Mutt March & Woofstock 2016...
Huge thanks to everyone who came out to our very first Mutt March at this year’s Woofstock! We had an absolute blast as dozens of loveable pups and their owners joined us in our pet parade around downtown Springfield. From floppy eared puppies dressed in their best costumes to silver-haired basset hounds, we had a wonderful range of dogs participate in this outdoor fundraiser. As carefree as events like this can be, they play a big role in helping us spread word about what we do here at the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri. We have a lot of goals to accomplish this year, which is why it’s so important for us to be out in our community and to have supporters like you by our side. Besides increasing our adoption rate and helping to rehabilitate even more abandoned animals here in the Ozarks, we have one goal that looms large: Continue moving toward becoming a no-kill shelter. Making that switch won’t be easy, but we’re committed. No matter how much time or money it takes, we’re determined to give every animal who comes through our door the second chance they deserve. That is why we host events like Mutt March—to spread word about our shelter, to draw in more volunteers and foster families, to meet community members who are as crazy about animals as we are, and to raise funds needed in our move toward becoming no-kill.
We can’t do this without you and your continued support, so thank you for a wonderfully successful Mutt March!
